About the course...

Opened in 1986, the course was designed and sculpted by Robert Cupp, Jack Nicklaus’ chief designer for 14 years. The contour of the land, flowing streams, reflective ponds, sand and grass bunkers are all masterfully designed to give each hole its own unique character. The course offers every challenge expected of a mountain course, yet does so with a delicate balance of fairness and playability.

Laurel Ridge plays 6,904 yards from the back tees with a course rating of 72.4 and slope rating of 146. "Every shot must be visible", says Cupp. "If the player sees the shot, the player will remember the shot. My goal is for the players to remember their game."

Southern hospitality is only a small part of the charm of Laurel Ridge. Here are other accolades...
•Named the area’s finest private country club
•Chosen Most Challenging Course and Best Golf Course
•Selected as one of "America’s Best Courses" by Golfweek Magazine
•Immaculate groomed Bent Grass greens, tees and fairways
•Stunning scenic vistas
•Fully stocked Pro Shop
•PGA staff available for consultations and lessons

World class golfer and former Masters Champion, Bernhard Langer, left his mark at Laurel Ridge. Playing from the back tees, Langer shot an amazing 64, setting a new course record. The following day, he played the back nine with a score of 32. He described our championship course as memorable, saying, "every hole is distinctive and unique". He was especially fond of our signature hole, #12, saying, "the view reminds me of my native Germany".
